2013 – The Year in Review
It has been an amazing and truly rewarding year for Elite Manufacturing and Professional Services, Inc.
One year ago, in the Annual Meeting of Elite’s Board of Directors, we were excited that the Business Plan had been completed and office space had been acquired and furnished, and anxious to get the ball rolling on the New Year. And, what an amazing year it has been with many milestones surpassed. Amazingly, as I look back at the goals set forth by our board, each and every one has been realized.
During the first half of the year, we focused on refining our policies and procedures, selecting banking, insurance, and accounting partners, and fine-tuning the plan of action for our company. Good planning breeds success and we were fortunate to have the opportunity to plan our strategy and work our plan.
In July, we officially became operational. With one customer and three dedicated employees, Elite was officially a hit. We were faced with some immediate tests and challenges and we came through with flying colors and met all challenges. By the way, that first customer is still a customer today. We spent the majority of the third quarter focusing on internal support processes, external support processes, customer service, and strategic planning for the fourth quarter. We also expanded our Ridgefields office to better serve our employees and customers.
The fourth quarter was filled with excitement and significant growth. In October, we hosted the Kingsport Area Chamber of Commerce – Fall Bash complete with the official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for Elite. As we began to market our services on a broader scale, potential customers quickly became new customers. The number of Elite customers continues to steadily increase as does the number of Elite employees. In fact, during the month of December, Elite reached the sales projections set forth for December, 2014. Yes, a year ahead of schedule. Also, on Thursday, December 5, Elite was awarded the Kingsport Area Chamber of Commerce – Kingsport Office of Small Business Development and Entrepreneurship (KOSBE) New Business Award. The application process was grueling and the interview was intense, but receiving this award was very humbling and very rewarding.
During 2013, we were delighted to have the opportunity to give back to our community in a variety of ways. We recognize daily that there are non-profits who need support, there are those who are struggling, there are those who are less fortunate, and there are those who need to be heard. We have been blessed to be able to support those in need and plan to continue our community service and trust that God will provide. He always has!
As 2014 rapidly approaches, we are full speed ahead and poised for significant growth. We are fortunate to have a great group of Elite employees, amazing customers, and an exceptional internal office staff. Look for big things in the coming year!
